Exercise type distribution

How much work was Compound or Isolation?

What it shows

The Exercise type donut divides work by mechanics: Compound or Isolation. It answers a different question from Push/Pull/Legs. A Push Exercise can be either compound or isolation.

Exercise type is the right donut: Compound and Isolation share the same total as the movement classification.
Exercise type is the right donut: Compound and Isolation share the same total as the movement classification.

How to read it

Compare the two legend totals, not just the arc size. Then check which Exercises supplied the work. The donut does not prescribe an ideal compound/isolation ratio.

Example

Bench Press contributes to Push + Compound. Triceps Pushdown contributes to Push + Isolation. Both belong to the same movement family while occupying different mechanics slices.

Period, units and filters

Sets and Volume change the underlying metric; the involvement-role weighting also applies. The period and current scope apply. The classification comes from the historical Exercise snapshot; changing a current catalog definition does not silently relabel old workouts.
